The Kerala Story box office collection day 5: Sudipto Sen’s directorial venture, The Kerala Story, has created havoc at the box office. The film, which released on March 5, revolves around the four women from Kerala who were converted to Islam. She is later sent to the ISIS Terrorist Organisation. The film is said to be based on true incident. However, it has surrounded itself into serval controversies.

The Kerala High Court has refused to impose a ban in the state and the Supreme Court is set to hear an appeal against the high court’s order next week. The film was given tax-free status in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Madhya Pradesh government was the first to make the movie tax-free.

Coming to box office numbers, the film registered a solid weekend with Rs 35.65 crores including Rs 8.03 crores on Friday, Rs 11.22 crores on Saturday, and Rs 16.40 crores on Sunday.

Then on Monday being a normal working day, The Kerala Story still managed to stay strong and minted Rs 10.07 crores. With a slight growth, it bagged the amount of Rs 11.14 crores on Tuesday and has put a total of Rs 56.86 crores nett on the board after 5 days at the domestic box office.

The film features Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idhani in lead roles.
