Fans of Balakrishna are showing immense craze about the movie on social media and creating huge buzz. The Balakrishna-starrer earned Rs 18.35 crore at the worldwide box office on the opening day. It grossed Rs 12.2 crore at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office, with a distributors’ share of Rs 9.82 crore. Gautamiputra Satakarni added over Rs 12 crore on the second day, to cross the Rs 30-crore mark. “Day 2 exceeds expectations for #GautamiPutraSatakarni with a strong show all over AP!,” Andhra Box Office tweeted.
The Telugu film are expected to hold well at the box office during this festival weekend as well. As per the report, on its third day GPSK reported slightly lesser response than Saturday and added the amount of 8.26 crores* to its account. With this, its opening weekend total collection has become 38+ crores* on domestic box office.
Gautamiputra Satakarni is a historical movie set during the times of the Satavahana empire. It is also the 100th film of Balakrishna. These two aspects had been creating a positive buzz for the film ever since it was announced. Its promos also created lot of curiosity about the movie. The hype helped its theatrical rights fetch record prices. The distributors made grand arrangements for the release by booking a large number of screens across the globe.
