Karan Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” starring Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt faces last-minute changes from CBFC ahead of its July 28 release. The upcoming romantic-drama is slated for a duration of 2 hours and 48 minutes or roughly three hours.
In the midst of enthusiastic promotions, Karan Johar’s much-awaited directorial venture, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” featuring the dynamic duo of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, encountered some unexpected hurdles from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Set to hit theaters on July 28, the film has been granted certification with certain requested changes.
According to the leading entertainment portal, “The cussword ‘b*******d’ which has been used in multiple scenes has been replaced by ‘behen di’. ‘Bra’ has been changed to ‘item’. The popular rum brand Old Monk has been replaced by ‘Bold Monk.’ Three dialogues were completely chopped off from the film, including a reference to Lok Sabha and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee each.”
Further, the report adds that “the movie also features a scene in the lingerie shop. The Censor Board reportedly termed a dialogue in the scene as ‘degrading women’ and asked for it to be removed.”
Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and others.
