Following the success of Jailer, superstar Rajinikanth is gearing up for the filming of his next, tentatively tiled Thalaivar 171. The film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj who is famous for Kaithi, Master and Vikram.
In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Lokesh has opened up about the movie, “First, we had plans to cast Rajinikanth as the hero in Kamal sir’s production. We had also finalised the script and all. But, following the Covid outbreak, we were not able to do that. Soon after I signed the film with Rajini sir, I called up Kamal sir. He was very proud.”
“Thalaivar 171 shoot will start in March end or April beginning in 2024. It will be a different movie, from all my previous movies.. It will be a new experiment. I’m going to shoot a particular portion in IMAX camera itself,” he added.
Anirudh Ravichander, who has worked with Lokesh in Vikram and Leo, is composing the music for the upcoming movie as well. Anirudh also delievered a hit album and background score for Rajini’s last film Jailer.
Other than Anirudh, stunt choreographer duo Anbu-Arivu has been roped in for the film. Other details of the movie will be announced soon.
