Haq and Jatadhara Box Office Collection Day 1: Courtroom Drama Triumphs Over Supernatural Mystery in Friday Clash

The box office witnessed a clash of genres this Friday, November 7, as the Yami Gautam-Emraan Hashmi courtroom drama ‘Haq’ faced off against the Sudheer Babu-Sonakshi Sinha supernatural thriller ‘Jatadhara. Let’s take a look at how they fared on Day 1.

Haq and Jatadhara Box Office Collection Day 1: Courtroom Drama Triumphs Over Supernatural Mystery in Friday Clash

The Suparn Varma-directed ‘Haq,’ which is inspired by the landmark 1985 Shah Bano Begum case, managed to take the lead over the pan-India release ‘Jatadhara.’

Haq saw its day 1 collection land in the range of Rs 2.03 crore, a figure that, while not a blockbuster opening, is considered fair for a content-driven film with positive reviews. Yami Gautam’s performance, in particular, has garnered significant praise from critics and early audiences, suggesting that a strong Word of Mouth could propel the film’s business over the weekend.

The bilingual film ‘Jatadhara,’ starring Telugu actor Sudheer Babu and Sonakshi Sinha, saw a slower start. The film, which mixes mythology and horror, collected approximately Rs 0.57 crore* on its opening day.

The box office for both films is now set for a critical Saturday, where a substantial jump will be necessary to establish a successful run.
