Batwara 1947 3rd day box office collection: Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s period drama Batwara 1947 has recorded a total opening weekend collection of Rs 24.70 crore. The film witnessed a mixed trend over its first three days at the box office.

The Rajkumar Santoshi directorial opened with Rs 5.25 crore on Friday. Collections witnessed a strong jump on Saturday, when the film earned Rs 12.65 crore. On Sunday, Batwara 1947 collected Rs 6.80 crore, taking its three-day total to Rs 24.70 crore.
The film is facing competition from Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani’s Awarapan 2, with both films arriving in cinemas around the same period.
Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, Batwara 1947 is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India. The story explores displacement, communal tensions and humanity during one of the most traumatic chapters in the history of the subcontinent.
The ensemble cast includes Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh, among others. The film draws its story from Asghar Wajahat’s acclaimed play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.
