Akshaye Khanna is all set to step into the world of superheroes as he joins the cast of Mahakali, the next ambitious film in the Prashanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Produced by RKD Studios, Mahakali marks the second installment in the PVCU following the massive success of HanuMan, and expectations are sky-high.
Khanna, known for his intense performances and layered characters, will play a pivotal role in the upcoming action-fantasy film. This move marks his foray into the superhero genre, adding a fresh layer of intrigue to the already anticipated project. The actor is coming off critical acclaim and audience love for his portrayal of Aurangzeb in Chhaava, the Vicky Kaushal starrer that turned into a box office hit. His entry into the PVCU only builds further excitement for what’s to come.
The film Mahakali was officially announced on October 10 last year, in sync with the festive occasion of Navratri.
Directed by Puja Kolluru, Mahakali will be an important addition to the PVCU and continues Prashanth Varma’s vision of creating a homegrown superhero universe deeply inspired by Indian culture and mythology. Presented by RK Duggal and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal, the film aims to blend myth, action, and emotion on a grand scale.
With Akshaye Khanna now on board, Mahakali has further boosted the anticipation surrounding the film.
