Sharing the announcement on social media, Aamir Khan Productions wrote: “Powerful collaboration for the first time: Aamir Khan × Sunny Deol × Rajkumar Santoshi. We are happy to announce #Lahore1947 will release in theatres on 13th August 2026.”

The film marks a powerful first-time collaboration between Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, and acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi—a combination that has already generated significant buzz across the industry and among audiences.

Headlined by Sunny Deol, Lahore 1947 boasts an ensemble cast featuring Shabana Azmi, Preity G. Zinta, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol, and Ali Fazal. The film is produced by Aamir Khan under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

The technical team behind the project is equally formidable. Music is composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar, while dialogues are written by Rajkumar Santoshi and Asghar Wajahat. Santosh Sivan serves as the cinematographer, Shyam Salgaonkar handles editing, and Academy Award–winner Resul Pookutty is responsible for sound design.
