Tamasha 6th Day Box Office Collection
Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s Tamasha continues to cast a spell on moviegoers. The Imtiaz Ali-directed film, which hit the screens on November 27 this year, is nearing the Rs 50-crore mark in India. Tamasha has seen a more or less good response at the domestic box office, with collections soaring since Day 1. The Ranbir-Deepika-starrer had opened to Rs 10.94 crore, and had earned Rs 38.23 crore in its first three days. On Saturday (November 28), the film collected Rs 13.17 crore, followed by Rs 14.12 crore on Sunday (November 29). The first Monday, which is considered a box office litmus test of sorts for films, Tamasha managed to do a business of Rs 5.07 crore in India. The total collection of the film after four days of its release stands at Rs 43.40 crore. On the next day i.e. Tuesday it has faced more drop and added 4.07 crores to its account.
Till the end of its 5th day, total domestic collection of Tamasha is estimated as 47.37 crores. The film opened to largely mixed reviews, but Imtiaz Ali loyalists made their way to the theatres to catch a show of Tamasha. The director’s last Bollywood outing was the 2014 Highway. This time around, Imtiaz re-teamed up with Ranbir and Deepika. While Ranbir and Imtiaz had worked together for the 2011 Rockstar; with Deepika Padukone, Imtiaz shares a six-year long association. Padukone had been directed by Ali in the 2009 film Love Aaj Kal.
Tamasha sees ex-lovers Ranbir and Deepika getting back together on the silver screen after three years. They had last treated their fans to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2012. While that Ayan Mukerji film still continues to be the highest money-earner at the box office as far as Deepika-Ranbir’s films are concerned, Tamasha comes a close second. The two were also seen together on the big screen in the 2008 film Bachna Ae Haseeno, which was directed by Siddharth Anand.
The movie was released this Friday on 2100 screens in India and getting decent response from audience across the country. Tamasha has received not so favorable reviews from critics but still due to star power it is performing good. The movie has minted total 47.37 crores in last 5 days. Today being the 6th day of release, it has started with average occupancy and made the business of around 3.57 crores (Early Estimation). Tamasha is performing outstanding from its very first day of release. In weekdays it is facing usual drops but still the amount is comparatively good than previous releases.
