Padmaavat (Padmavati) 24th Day Collection, Stays Steady on 4th Saturday

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project Padmaavat has been performing quite well at the box office even after Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra’s films released on consecutive Fridays. Padmaavat released on January 25 despite witnessing severe dissent from Rajput fringe group Karni Sena that alleged the film “distorts history.”

The Rajputs and Karni Sena were protesting against the movie and it got so ugly that release of the film was postponed from December 01, 2017. All this happened because a rumour hit the internet that a dream sequence between Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) and Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone) will be a part of the film.

In the opening week, on an outstanding note Padmaavat did the business of 166.50 crores that included 114 crores of weekend and 52.50 crores of weekdays. In the second week as well, it remained strong and garnered 69.50 crores with 46 crores of weekend and 23.50 crores of weekdays.

Then in the third week, Deepika-Shahid-Ranveer starrer dropped by usual rate and bagged the amount of 31.75 crores that included 17.80 crores of weekend and 13.95 crores of weekdays. On 4th Friday, SLB’s directorial faced more than 30% of drop than previous day and minted the amount of 1.75 crore.

While on the next day, once again it showed good growth and registered the business of 3 crore. With this, the total collection of Padmaavat after 24 days, has become 272.50 crores at the domestic box office.
