Dangal Second Day Performance Report

Most awaited movie of this year Dangal released in the cinema halls yesterday on 23 December 2016 near the occasion of Christmas. Dangal is a biographical sports drama movie with main lead as Aamir Khan. Film has been launched over 5300 screens breaking many records set by other films. In its second day also, film is showing supreme performance. Not just that, ‘Dangal’ has registered itself in the top ten opening collections of all time, sitting strongly at the seventh position. The list of top ten opening collections sees a heavy dominance from the three Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. While Salman’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ rules the chart with Rs 39.32 crore, Aamir’s films in the list include ‘Dhoom 3’ on the fourth spot and ‘PK’ at the tenth spot.

The Nitesh Tiwari-directed film hasn’t been able to match the first day figures of ‘Dhoom 3’ which had seen Rs 32.48 crore coming in. ‘Dangal’ is expected to see a jump in its collections as it has come on a non-holiday and has the entire weekend to mint money. The film has fared exceptionally in East Punjab and Delhi NCR. One can assume that the Haryanvi set-up of the film has given it an advantage in the northern states. The movie registered relatively lower numbers in Eastern India (West Bengal, Bihar etc) and Gujarat. However, the film has got glowing reviews from critics across all quarters.

Movie has a record breaking opening in all theatres and multiplexes however the film’s occupancy was not much as expected on its first day, still it made a fabulous business of 29.78 Crore on box office considering opening day as a proper weekend and second day too. It made a blast on its second day in the theaters. Reviews from the audience showed tremendous approvals and excitements about this film. Dangal movie has set good records in the box office list by making a commendable business on its first day and increased pace on its second working day too. Film is doing far well on its second day of release.

According to the reports on the views and reviews of the audience, cost of the tickets was satisfyingly recovered from the movie. Dangal has gained lot of business overseas also and in its second day it made a business of around 34.82 Crores domestically which is very awesome figure. This movie is expected to turn over an amount of around 40 Crores on Sunday as this is the end of the weekend and at most end of the year. Third day box office collection is estimated to grow higher and peak heights in the upcoming days of its business.
