War 2 4th day box office collection: Yash Raj Films’ big-ticket action thriller War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has wrapped up its first weekend at the box office with a total collection of Rs 120 crore. Featuring a star-studded cast — Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani — the film opened to a decent start but experienced a noticeable dip in collections by Day 4 (Sunday).
The Hindi version of War 2 began its theatrical run with an opening day collection of Rs 29 crore on Day 1 (Thursday). It gained strong momentum on Day 2 (Friday), earning Rs 46 crore, boosted by the Independence Day holiday. However, the momentum slowed over the weekend, with the film earning Rs 27 crore on Day 3 (Saturday) and Rs 28 crore on Day 4 (Sunday). This brings the total Hindi net collection to Rs 130 crore over its extended four-day opening weekend.
Despite its grand scale and stellar cast, War 2 has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. While the action sequences and performances have been widely praised, many viewers have criticized the film for its lack of emotional depth and originality in the storyline. These factors may have contributed to the decline in footfalls on Sunday — typically the strongest day for box office earnings during an opening weekend.
War 2 is also facing tough competition from Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which is reportedly closing in on the Rs 200 crore mark after its own massive opening weekend. The box office rivalry could further limit War 2’s growth, especially in South Indian markets where NTR’s presence was expected to boost performance.
With a reported budget of Rs 400 crore, War 2 still has a long way to go before entering the profit zone. All eyes are now on its weekday collections, which will determine whether the film can sustain momentum or fades after a decent start.
