Vishnu Manchu’s star-studded, much-anticipated mythological drama Kannappa has locked in a new release date. In a meeting held in Lucknow, the film’s core team met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who unveiled a poster of the film and confirmed that it will release worldwide on June 27, 2025.
During the meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath was also shown behind-the-scenes footage from the film, giving him insight into the scale and vision of the project, which blends devotion, mythology, and high-end cinematic production.
Reflecting on the meeting, Vishnu Manchu said, “Meeting Hon’ble CM Yogi Adityanath ji was a moment of immense honour for all of us. As someone who has poured a decade of my life into Kannappa, seeing him resonate with the soul of our film was incredibly moving. He understood that Kannappa isn’t just a story—it’s a cultural resurrection.”
“The fact that he called for more such films to be made and seen affirms the spiritual and cultural power cinema can hold. His words were a reminder that our mythology, our history, our heroes must continue to find their voice on the big screen and be passed down to generations. It is a privilege to have the release date of the film – June 27, unveiled by him,” he added.
Kannappa features a star-studded cast including Preity Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal. With its mythological roots and visually rich storytelling, the film is being positioned as a grand cinematic experience aimed at a global audience.
