The trailer of Thug Life opens with scenic visuals and Kamal Haasan’s voiceover, where he talks about a little boy who once saved his life. That boy grows up to be Silambarasan (also known as Simbu), who seems to become a major part of his life. The trailer hints at a deep bond between the two characters and shows their journey through joy, pain, and betrayal.

Viewers also get glimpses of Kamal Haasan sharing emotional and romantic moments with actresses Trisha and Abhirami. But the focus soon returns to high-octane action scenes. At one point, Simbu’s character introduces himself as Rangarayan Sakthivel Nayakar, signaling a big turning point in the story. There’s also a powerful face-off shown between Simbu and Kamal Haasan, raising curiosity about their relationship in the film.

Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies, Thug Life features a star-studded cast that includes Trisha, Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, Joju George, and Nasser. The music is composed by AR Rahman.

Interestingly, the title Thug Life was reportedly suggested by Kamal Haasan himself. Mani Ratnam then built the script around this idea, creating a story about a man who the world thinks is dead.
