The Diplomat 3rd day box office collection: This Friday released, the Hindi political thriller – The Diplomat has passed its opening weekend on an overall decent note. After a good start, Shivam Nair’s directorial picked up well over Saturday & Sunday.
John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb starrer The Diplomat has received mostly positive reviews from the critics for its engaging story-line and gained good word of mouth. On Friday, it opened on a slow note and did the business of Rs 4.03 crores after a decent pick post noon shows.
On Saturday, as expected it took a good growth of 16.13% and minted the amount of Rs 4.68 crores. Then on Sunday, The Diplomat witnessed a limited jump further and bagged the amount of Rs 4.74 crores. With this, its 3 days total domestic collection has become Rs 13.45 crores nett.
The film is inspired by the real-life ordeal of Indian national Uzma Ahmad, who was rescued from Pakistan in 2017 after allegedly being honey-trapped, forced into marriage at gunpoint, and subjected to abuse.
The movie highlights the courageous efforts of diplomat J.P. Singh—currently India’s envoy to Israel—who played a pivotal role in Uzma’s return. John Abraham portrays Singh, bringing his intense screen presence to this powerful and emotional narrative.
