After a solid opening week, director Om Raut’ last Friday released Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has started its second week at a solid note despite the release of several new Hindi films. The Hindi period drama has expectedly impressed everyone with its strong content and getting a great response in multiplexes.
Starring Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, Tanhaji has received positive reviews from the critics and gathered a very good word of mouth. In the first week, it remained strong throughout and did the business of 118.91 crores which included 61.93 crores in the weekend and 56.98 crores on weekdays.
Produced by T-Series & Ajay Devgn Films, Tanhaji has now entered in the second weekend and managed to collect the amount of 10.06 crores on 2nd Friday. With this, its 8 days total collection has become 128.97 crores nett at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak is getting wonderful response but got failed to attract the audience. At an overall disappointing note, it raked the business of 28.38 crores in the first week from India with 19.02 crores in the weekend and 9.36 crores on weekdays.
Now, Foxstar Studios and Deepika Padukone’s production, Chhapaak has entered the second week and started the weekend at a low note by collecting 0.95 crore. With this, its 8 days total collection has become 29.33 crores nett.
