The much-awaited sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border has officially begun shooting, with Bollywood superstar Sunny Deol returning to reprise his role. The actor, who became synonymous with patriotism and valor in Indian cinema thanks to his powerful portrayal in the original war drama, has begun filming Border 2 in the picturesque hill station of Dehradun.
On April 27th, The ‘Jaat’ actor dropped a video on his Insta stories, as he witnessed a captivating sunset amidst the beautiful landscape of Dehradun. Appreciating the beauty around him, Sunny was heard saying, “So…so…so.. beautiful”. “Reached Border shooting wild weather and beautiful sunset in Dehradun.”
Border, directed by J.P. Dutta, was a major success both commercially and critically, capturing the emotions and trials of the Indian Army during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. With stellar performances from an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and others, the film resonated deeply with audiences and became an unforgettable part of Indian cinematic history.
Apart from Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh in the primary cast of “Border 2” and set to hit theatres on January 23, 2026.
