Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is set to return to the big screen in a new avatar with her upcoming psychological thriller Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness. The film, which marks a significant departure from her previous roles, has officially been rescheduled to hit theatres on June 27, 2025, after its original May release was postponed.
On May 29, the actress took to social media to unveil the official poster of her upcoming psychological thriller, Nikita Roy. She wrote, “Mark your calendars! Our edge-of-the-seat thriller ‘Nikita Roy’ now has a new release date! Catch the suspense unfold on the big screen on 27th June 2025!”
The film’s narrative delves into themes of mysticism, psychological tension, and human vulnerability, offering a fresh perspective in the thriller genre.
Alongside Sinha, the ensemble cast includes Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and Suhail Nayyar. The film is directed by Kussh S Sinha and produced under the banners of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films, Kratos Entertainment, and Nikita Pai Films Ltd.
Up next, she will make her Telugu debut with the supernatural thriller Jatadhara. Directed by Venkat Kalyan, the film stars Sudheer Babu and Shilpa Shirodkar. She has already completed shooting for the film.
