Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film King has officially begun production today, marking a new chapter not only in his legendary career but also in the budding film journey of his daughter, Suhana Khan.
Directed by action-specialist Siddharth Anand, King is shaping up to be a high-octane thriller that promises grandeur, scale, and emotional depth. While Shah Rukh Khan is expected to join the shoot at a later stage, filming has already commenced with Suhana Khan and rising actor Abhay Verma taking center stage in the initial schedule.
Suhana Khan, who made her screen debut on Netflix’s The Archies in 2023, now steps into mainstream Bollywood with this high-profile action drama. Her pairing with Abhay Verma, known for his breakout performances in digital series and indie films, adds a fresh dynamic to the project. Insiders suggest that their characters are central to the film’s opening arc, which is currently being shot at an undisclosed location in Mumbai.
King had originally been slated to begin shooting in June 2025, but sources close to the production reveal that the script revisions were recently completed, allowing for an early start. The early filming schedule also aligns with Suhana Khan’s 25th birthday week, making this a particularly special milestone for the Khan family.
The film is being co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the latter also backing Anand’s previous hits. With a 2026 theatrical release in mind, King is poised to be one of the most anticipated films of the coming year.
