Close on the heels of announcing the film and its cast recently, the makers of Nani’s next – DVV Entertainment – on Monday unveiled the film’s title through an elaborate video. The title is Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and it marks the natural star reteaming with Vivek Athreya after the average grosser Ante Sundaraniki.
Close to three minutes in length, the video opens with an old warehouse-like structure where Nani’s character Surya is held captive. A voiceover by Sai Kumar later says, “Our elders used to say that there comes a day for everyone irrespective if he is a king or a servant. To see that day, one has to diligently wait. Modern folks gave a new spin to this maxim, saying you will get your time, wait until then. The film’s story is neither about the past or the present but about that one day.”
As the clock strikes 12 am, Nani, with brute force, uncuffs himself as a pile of paper flies in the space, mirroring chaos. The voiceover goes on, “What if one man gets that momentous day every week? Can anyone dare to stop him?” Nani plays that one man here and the day happens to be Saturday. As Surya strains every nerve to free himself from the chains controlling him, a fire engulfs the place, leaving a trail of destruction. Later, his menacing close up is revealed.
Rounding up, the video is a pointer that Vivek Athreya who confined himself to dramas until now is navigating action territory for the first time, while promising to unleash a hitherto unseen Nani, who looks fierce and there’s a certain chutzpah about him. Composer Jakes Bejoy’s score adds edginess to the glimpse.
Priyanka Arul Mohan is cast opposite Nani in Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, while SJ Suryah is on board for a supporting turn. To be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages, the film will be officially launched in Hyderabad tomorrow.
