In an exciting development for Bollywood’s genre cinema, actor Ranveer Singh is reportedly collaborating with filmmaker Jai Mehta on an upcoming zombie-themed horror thriller. While details remain tightly under wraps, early reports suggest the project is currently in development and may be titled “Pralay”, though no official confirmation has been issued.
According to a Pinkvilla exclusive, Pralay is “a human story” set in a world struck by an unexpected disaster — both natural and man-made.
A source close to the project revealed: “Ranveer Singh’s next is tentatively titled Pralay. The title is in sync with the world of the film, which is hit by an unexpected disaster – both natural and man-made. While the world of Pralay is unlike anything seen before, the film is more of a human story based on how far a man can go to save his family in the most difficult circumstances.”
The source further added: “Ranveer is expected to start shooting for Jai Mehta’s film in the second half of 2026, once he wraps up shooting for Don 3. The film demands prolonged pre-production, as the makers aim to create a completely new world. The tone is reminiscent of World War Z and I Am Legend, where the protagonist must battle multiple evils to protect his family.”
Casting for the female lead is still underway. Sources indicate that the producers are looking to bring on board a top A-list actress to star opposite Ranveer Singh.
