Actor Rajniesh Duggal is set to portray Physics Wallah teacher Pankaj Sijairya in an upcoming biopic, which is currently in development. The film has been written and will be directed by James A., who was one of Sijairya’s students.
Duggal revealed the project during an Instagram Live interaction with Sijairya, where he shared details about the film and his association with the project. The actor also revealed that he had recently completed reading the script and was impressed by the way the story has been written.
“I have a very interesting surprise for you, Pankaj sir. One of your students has actually written the film and asked me if I would like to play your role in it. So I said 100% that if there is something like this, I would absolutely want to be a part of it. In fact, I finished the script today, and it is written in a very interesting way,” Duggal said during the conversation.
Sijairya is an Organic Chemistry teacher associated with Physics Wallah, the education platform founded by Alakh Pandey. He has developed a strong following among students for his distinctive teaching style, which blends Chemistry concepts with humour, relatable examples and shayari.
The upcoming film will feature Duggal in the role of Sijairya, with the story being presented from the perspective of someone who experienced his teaching first-hand. Esha Talwar has also been cast as the female lead.
The project is currently in the development stage, with further details regarding its production, title and release expected to be announced in due course.
