As filmmaker Vasan Bala celebrates his birthday today, Radhika Madan took to her social media to wish her director.
Having began her Bollywood journey with Vasan Bala for ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’, Radhika Madan shares an affectionate relationship with the director and has often termed him as her family.
Reuniting with him for her short film ‘Spotlight’ as a part of Netflix’s anthology Ray, Radhika Madan had touted Vasan Bala as the primary reason to be a part of the project. Sharing a picture with Bala, Radhika wished the director saying, “Happy Birthday ‘Maegic’!🙏🏻”
Vasan Bala is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter and actor who works primarily in Bollywood. He is best known for his work as a screenwriter in the period crime drama Bombay Velvet (2015) and the neo noir psychological thriller Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016). In 2012, Vasan made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Peddlers, which was nominated for a Golden Camera Award at the Cannes Film Festival that year.
Besides these, he has also worked as an assistant director in films like Dev.D (2009), Gulaal (2009) and Trishna (2011), and has appeared in minor supporting roles in Aamir (2008) and Ugly (2013). Notable film credits as a dialogue writer include The Lunchbox (2013) and Rukh (2017). His 2019 release includes Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.
