The trailer for Peddi, starring Ram Charan, has been released, showcasing the actor’s prowess in multiple sports, including wrestling, cricket and sprinting. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the Telugu-language film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Boman Irani and Divyendu Sharma in key roles.
Clocking in at three minutes and seven seconds, the trailer opens with Ram Charan’s powerful introduction, highlighting his cricketing and wrestling skills. In one scene, Boman Irani’s character describes him as “the cross athlete of India”. The film appears to be a rural sports drama centred on a gifted athlete whose passion for sport is challenged by landlords and other powerful adversaries.
Ram Charan plays a multi-talented sportsman who relies on his physical abilities to earn a living across different disciplines. Divyendu Sharma is expected to portray one of the antagonists, while Charan’s character shares a romantic track with Janhvi Kapoor’s role. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, with music composed by A. R. Rahman.
The studio unveiled the trailer on Instagram. During production, Chiranjeevi and filmmaker Sukumar visited the set and interacted with the cast and crew, including Ram Charan in character. The actor later shared videos of the visits on his Instagram account.
Sukumar reportedly played a significant role in shaping Peddi, contributing to story development, casting decisions, music selection and other creative aspects. According to a press release, he also attended shoots, supervised editing and helped bring the film’s vision to life.
Peddi is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 4.
