Thala Ajith Kumar starrer Nerkonda Paarvai, which is the official Tamil remake of Hindi film Pink, opened to packed audiences in Chennai and the rest of Tamil Nadu. Although on its’ second day of release the footfall for the highly anticipated flick dropped.
Directed by H Vinoth, the court-room drama has received very positive reactions from the critics as well as the audience and gathered a solid word of mouth. Ajith has performed his character brilliantly in the film and is being appreciated by everyone.
On the first day, Nerkonda Paarvai took an excellent start in the morning in metro cities and also witnessed fair growth in footfalls post noon shows. In mass circuits, it remained decent throughout the day and successfully registered the business of 14.82 crores on Thursday.
On Friday, Zee Studios & Bayview Projects LLP’s production, unfortunately got dropped by a significant rate, but still managed to collect 9.60 crores and raised its 2 days total collection to 24.42 crores at the Tamil Nadu box office. As per the current trend, Nerkonda Paarvai is expected to pick up again on Saturday & Sunday but its fate will be decided on Monday.
Interestingly, the film also marks the Tamil debut of Vidya Balan. The original film, which released in 2016 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kirti Kulhari, Taapsee Pannu, Angad Bedi and Piyush Mishra in key roles was produced by Shoojit Sircar and directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.
