Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment have officially unveiled the teaser for Mirzapur: The Movie, signaling the popular franchise’s move from streaming to the big screen. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on September 4, 2026, in both Hindi and Telugu.
Building on the universe first introduced through the acclaimed TV series Mirzapur in 2018, the movie explores a previously untold chapter designed specifically for cinemas. The story stretches beyond Purvanchal, taking audiences across diverse landscapes, including the deserts of Rajasthan.
The film brings back franchise favorites including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Divyenndu. In a notable development, Jitendra Kumar takes on the role of Bablu Pandit, reintroducing the beloved character to the franchise. Ravi Kishan also joins the cast in a new role.
The ensemble cast further features Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Maalik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Pramod Pathak, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Shweta Tripathi, and Sonal S Chauhan.
Directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment. Co-producers include Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani. Presented jointly by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the film aims to expand the Mirzapur saga on a larger cinematic scale.
