The Mirzapur fandom is set for a nostalgic musical moment as Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios unveil a teaser for ‘Vaaroon Forever’, the new version of the franchise’s much-loved track ‘Vaaroon’. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Romy, with music by Anand Bhaskar and lyrics by Ginny Diwan, the teaser offers the first glimpse of the recreated song and a taste of what’s in store ahead of its release.
The teaser comes soon after the makers unveiled the trailer of Mirzapur: The Movie, which generated strong buzz and was widely appreciated by fans and critics alike. As anticipation builds for the film’s theatrical release, the makers are now bringing back one of the most recognisable musical pieces from the Mirzapur universe, this time in a fresh rendition.
Originally released in 2020, ‘Vaaroon’ became an integral part of the franchise, particularly remembered for its soulful Sufi sound and evocative lyrics. The original song was composed by Anand Bhaskar, with lyrics by Ginny Diwan, and was picturised on Ali Fazal and Shriya Pilgaonkar, going on to become a fan favourite.
For Mirzapur: The Movie, the beloved track gets a fresh musical treatment while retaining the essence that made the original so memorable. The teaser sets the stage for the full song, which releases on August 18. The music of Mirzapur: The Movie also marks the first album from Excel Music.
Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur: The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, written by Puneet Krishna, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment. The film is co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani. Mirzapur: The Movie releases in cinemas on 4th September 2026.
