Sources reveal that Sanya Malhotra was originally the makers’ first choice for the role, and the team had assumed she would be signed on for the part long ago. However, recent developments suggest that the team behind Naagzilla has decided to widen their search, leading to Pratibha Ranta being considered for the role.
An insider shared, “Pratibha has been a surprise but refreshing choice. While Sanya was the frontrunner initially, her schedule and other commitments seem to have led the makers to explore other options. Pratibha, with her fresh face and impressive acting skills, has emerged as a strong contender.”
An industry source noted, “Pratibha’s lesser exposure makes her an exciting choice. She has the potential to bring something unique to the role without being overexposed. She’s a fresh talent that the makers are keen to build on.”
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Naagzilla is a high-octane, larger-than-life film that promises to blend action with fantasy. Produced by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, the film marks a significant collaboration in the Bollywood industry.
In addition to Naagzilla, Pratibha Ranta has another exciting project lined up with Maddock Films, expected to roll into production in early 2026. If the dates align, she will star opposite Kartik Aaryan in Naagzilla, potentially marking the beginning of a promising collaboration.
