L2E: Empuraan 1st day box office collection: After a long wait, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial L2E: Empuraan is finally hit the big screens on 27 March 2025. It is the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy and follows the events of its prequel Lucifer (2019).
The first installment, Lucifer was a huge hit. L2E delves into socio-political drama. Mohanlal’s commanding larger-than-life screen presence as Khureshi-Ab’raam is packed with intensity. The film gives a gripping glimpse into Khureshi’s past while also showcasing a power struggle within the political party.
On Thursday, L2E took an earth-shattering start in the morning and maintained the momentum throughout. In the end, it registered a business of approx. Rs 22.20 crores* (Malayalam: Rs 19.65 cr, Kannada: Rs 0.05 cr, Telugu: Rs 1.20 cr, Tamil: Rs 0.80 cr, Hindi: Rs 0.50 cr) at the domestic box office.
L2: Empuraan features Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Suraj Venjaramoodu and several others in pivotal roles.
The film, produced on a massive budget and it is also the first Malayalam film to be released on IMAX format.
