Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, who last collaborated on the cult gangster drama ‘Nayakan’ 36 years ago, are set to join forces once again. The team recently gathered for the launch event of their yet-to-be-titled film, and a clip featuring the crew list was shared by the makers.
Taking to social media, Raaj Kamal Films International shared a video clip which has created ample buzz on the platform. The announcement video features a shot from the 1987 collaboration of Mani Ratnam – Kamal Haasan film titled Nayakan and later pans to 2023, to the launch of their forthcoming film wherein the entire team was seen coming together in a grand ceremony to celebrate the reunion of the award-winning filmmaker and South superstar. The video was posted with the caption, “Begin The Begin and May The Journey Unfold”.
The rest of the team includes A R Rahman as the music composer, cinematographer Ravi K Chandar as DOP, and action director AnbAriv who will be coordinating the stunt sequences. While the film has not yet been titled, it is currently being referred to as KH 234.
Even though the video features a clip from Nayakan, it is unclear if the film will be sequel of the 1987 cult action drama. However several fans have expressed excitement over the trio of Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, and A R Rahman coming together and have shared their happiness on the platform.
Going by the announced video, the untitled film KH234 is expected to go on floors on November 7, 2023.
