There is no stopping for Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi) which is enjoying a dream run at the box office. After opening to rave reviews from the audience and shattering several box office records, the period action entertainer managed to enter the coveted 250 crore club within seven days of release.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the sequel of KGF has got succeed to impress many in theatres with its action, stunts and dialogues. From critics as well, it has received mostly positive reviews and gathered a strong word of mouth across the country as well as overseas.
On Thursday, KGF 2 was opened at an exceptional note and registered the highest opening of all time in Hindi Cinema with 53.95 crores. Afterwards, it had maintained a solid pace and did the business of 46.79 crores on Friday, 42.90 crores on Saturday and 50.35 crores on Sunday. After the 4-days extended weekend, Excel Entertainment’s presentation (North India) had raked the business of 193.99 crores.
On Monday, KGF Chapter 2 had collected 25.57 crores and 19.14 crores on Tuesday. On the next day i.e. Wednesday, KGF 2 (Hindi) managed to collect 16.35 crores and raised 7 days total collection to 255.05 crores at the domestic box office.
KGF 2’s success comes at a time when Hindi films seem to be struggling both commercially and creatively. The industry will hope to get some respite this week, with the release of Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey, which happens to be a remake of a Telugu film by the same name.
