Kesari Chapter 2 1st day box office collection: Finally, the highly anticipated film Kesari Chapter 2, hit the theatres on April 18th, 2025. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari 2 stars Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in the lead role.
Released on the auspicious occasion of Good Friday, the film garnered an estimated Rs 7.84 crore net across India on its first day, according to preliminary reports from various trade outlets.
While the holiday release undoubtedly contributed to initial footfalls, the opening day figures fall considerably short of the original Kesari, which stormed the box office with a Rs 21.06 crore collection back in 2019.
A spiritual sequel to Kesari (2019), the plot is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, centred around C. Sankaran Nair and the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, the Kesari Chapter 2 also features Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day, Alexx O’Nell and Amit Sial.
