Several reports earlier suggested that a sequel to Karan Johar’s production in 2018 Dhadak is in the works, and it might star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. Now, it has been confirmed that the two actors are indeed starring in Dhadak 2. The film will be released in cinemas on November 22, 2024, with debutante director Shazia Iqbal at the helm.
Karan Johar took to social media on Monday, May 27 and wrote, “यह कहानी है थोड़ी अलग क्यूंकि एक था राजा, एक थी रानी – जात अलग थी…ख़तम कहानी Presenting Dhadak 2 starring Siddhant Chaturvedi & Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal. #Dhadak2 in cinemas 22nd November 2024.”
Dhadak, which marked the debut of Janhvi Kapoor and introduced Ishaan Khatter, was a remake of the critically acclaimed Marathi film Sairat. The original film explored themes of love across social barriers and resonated deeply with audiences.
