Following the success of its precursor at the film office, Kantara: Chapter 1 is anticipated to be a spinoff of this mystical drama that will introduce viewers to the origins of the legend featured in the 2022 drama. Fans were excited when this second installment was announced, and Hombale Films has increased that excitement by revealing the November 17 release date.
“The moment has arrived. The divine forest whispers. #KantaraChapter1 Worldwide Grand Release on October 2, 2025.” Kantara Chapter 1 will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi and English,” they wrote.
Speaking of the release date, it is not only a National Holiday due to Gandhi Jayanti but it also coincides with the occasion of Dussehra, which is the tenth day after Navratri.
Released in 2022, Kantara is set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada. The film narrates the story of a Kambala champion (played by Rishab Shetty) who faces off against a forest range officer.
The first instalment of the series also features Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, and Prakash Thuminad. Kantara is currently available for streaming on Netflix and Prime Video.
