Kantara Chapter 1 box office prediction day 1: With the massive success of the original Kantara still echoing through Indian cinema, the anticipation surrounding Kantara Chapter 1 has reached fever pitch. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the prequel promises to delve deeper into the mythology and lore that made the first film a cult phenomenon. And now, as the film gears up for its theatrical release, early indicators suggest a roaring start at the box office.
According to industry insiders, Kantara Chapter 1 is expected to make a massive impact at the box office on its opening day. In South India, where the film is releasing in Kannada and its dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, the estimated Day 1 net collection is projected to be between Rs 50 to Rs 55 crore.
Meanwhile, in the Hindi belt, where the film is releasing in its dubbed Hindi version, the expected earnings range from Rs 15 to Rs 17 crore. Combined, the film could potentially collect Rs 65 to Rs 72 crore net across India on Day 1 alone.
This performance would place Kantara Chapter 1 among the biggest openers of the year, a remarkable feat for a film without traditional pan-India Bollywood or Tollywood star power. It’s a testament to the brand Kantara and Rishab Shetty’s storytelling.
Interestingly, Kantara Chapter 1 will be clashing with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a film targeting a more mainstream, family-oriented audience. While the genres differ vastly, this clash has fueled conversations, particularly in the Hindi-speaking markets.
