“In Kalki, I played a smaller part that appears for just a few minutes,” Haasan revealed in a press meet held in Chennai. “My true involvement in the film is just beginning, and I’ll have a much larger role in the second part. Because of this, I watched the movie as a fan, and I was truly amazed.”

Haasan continued by expressing his optimism for Indian cinema’s growing global presence, citing Kalki 2898 AD as a prime example. “We’ve seen numerous indicators that Indian cinema is transitioning towards global entertainment, and Kalki 2898 AD exemplifies this trend,” he said.

“Director Nag Ashwin skillfully handled the mythological themes without introducing any religious prejudice. Only civilizations like Japan, China, and Greece can compete with India’s rich storytelling heritage. Ashwin skillfully used these stories and brought everyone together with a lot of patience.”

Kalki 2898 AD, released on June 27, 2024, is a high-budget sci-fi film set in a dystopian future. The plot reportedly revolves around a modern-day incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu, Kalki, who descends to Earth to combat evil forces. The film boasts a star-studded cast featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani alongside Haasan.
