Akshay Kumar has turned up the suspense around his upcoming thriller Haiwaan. The actor shared a new poster from the Priyadarshan directorial and announced that the much-awaited trailer will be released tomorrow, August 25.
Sharing the poster, Akshay wrote, “Kal kahaani meri hogi. Lekin darr… tumhara. #Haiwaan — Trailer Out Tomorrow.” The cryptic message has further heightened curiosity around the film, which pairs Akshay with Saif Ali Khan in a dark cat-and-mouse thriller.
The announcement comes after the film’s teaser introduced a tense face-off between Saif and Akshay. Saif plays a visually impaired character, while Akshay appears in a sinister avatar. The teaser kept the story under wraps and raised questions about who will emerge victorious.
Haiwaan marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after their last film together, Tashan (2008). The duo has previously shared the screen in films including Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi and Aarzoo, making their return one of the major talking points surrounding the thriller.
Priyadarshan has described Akshay’s character as a “psycho” villain, while Saif plays a blind character at the centre of the film’s suspense-driven narrative. The director has promised a gripping confrontation between the two actors.
Directed and co-written by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan is the Hindi remake of his acclaimed 2016 Malayalam film Oppam. The new adaptation features Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher and Jisshu Sengupta, with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal making a cameo appearance.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana under the banners of KVN Productions and Thespian Films, Haiwaan is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 11, 2026.
