Gadar 2 and OMG 2 box office collection day 30: Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 complete a month of release in theatres today. Released on August 11th, both the film opened to a great response from critics as well as audience.
A sequel to the iconic Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), Gadar 2 did the business of Rs 284.63 in the first week, Rs 134.47 crores in the second, Rs 63.35 crores in the third week & Rs 27.55 crores in the fourth week.
Despite the new much-anticipated Jawan, Anil Sharma’s directorial is now running in the fifth week and did the business of Rs 1.03 crores on its 5th Friday. Then on 5th Saturday, with a slight jump in footfalls, the film minted 1.88 crores and raised 30 days total collection to Rs 512.91 crores.
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 has also received positive reviews but witnessed a dent in its business due to a clash. In the last four weeks, it had raked the business of Rs 85.05 crores in the first, Rs 41.37 crores in the second, Rs 15.40 crores in the third & Rs 7.10 crores in the fourth week.
Directed by Amit Rai, the film is now running in the fifth week at a very low note. On 5th Friday, it had managed to collect Rs 0.12 crore. Then on 5th Saturday, it remained steady and minted 0.15 crores* and raised 30 days total collection to Rs 149.19 crores*.
