Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is a true blue definition of a multifarious personality. Known for her critically acclaimed films such as ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and ‘Panga’, the filmmaker keeps on challenging herself constantly to bring to light untapped shades of love and relationship with interesting narrations. Ashwiny with her first project in the digital space ‘Faadu’ is set to touch the hearts of millions in a long format with quite a relatable concept. Actor Abhilash Thapliyal heaps praise on Ashwiny for deftly running the show on set.
Abhilash admired Tiwari’s style of filmmaking, and found her ability to ‘stay calm amid chaos’ noteworthy. He shared, “Once when an AD was shouting on the set, she politely asked him to refrain from it. It is a rarity in our industry to have such directors. Her ‘Sab ho jaayega, shanti rakho’ attitude is something I admire and want to emulate.”
Expressing his experience on Faadu sets, Abhilash also said, “Playing the part of Roxie was a new experience. This character’s perception of the world is different from mine. For me, Faadu is a poetic love story. Every character in the series is a poet in his or her own right, in one way or the other way. I am never [swayed by] the length of my character. What matters to me is the spin that he can give to the narrative.”
Ashwiny is an inquisitive mind who keeps on brimming with ideas. She perfectly aces her role in every field. Some of Tiwari’s revered and appreciated works are ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, ‘Ghar Ki Murgi’, and her recent Netflix anthology ‘Ankahi Kahaniya’.
Tiwari’s last project ‘BREAKPOINT’ was a hit with the critics and the audiences, she will next helm the web series, ‘Faadu’, which will be her debut OTT show and also mark her first collaboration with Sony LIV.
