Dhanush’s ‘D50’ is titled ‘Raayan’; First Look poster revealed

Returning to the big screen as well as to the director’s chair will be Dhanush with the ambitious D50. The film is expected to be intense actioner for which the Captain Miller actor also underwent extensive prep. For the first time, the film will present the star in a different avatar and he is also seen to have cropped his hair. On Monday evening, Dhanush along with the rest of the team unveiled the title of his much-awaited next as Raayan and also launched a new poster.

Speaking of the poster, it features Dhanush in the center where he is seen sporting a bloodied and dirty apron with him holding a sharp knife-like object. Set against the backdrop of what seems like a food truck, the poster also features Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan, both of them giving intense expressions as they are seen holding knives.

While Dhanush shared the poster on his social media handle along with unveiling the title, Kalidas and Sundeep shared a heartfelt note as they also added their excitement about collaborating with Dhanush as an actor and director.

While Kalidas said, “The wait is finally over and I’m so excited to share with you guys a film that is very close to my heart.. RAAYAN I’m so happy to be a part of Dhanush Sir’s 50th film, which he is also directing. From being an ardent admirer of his work to sharing screen space with him, this has been a dream come true. Let’s DIVE into the world of RAAYAN !” On the other hand, Sundeep added, “Absolute Pleasure to be Collaborating for the Second time with the incredible @dhanushkraja Na .. this time around as a Director as well ..Thank you For the Love and Faith”.

Speaking of the film, the music is composed by maestro A R Rahman with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK. Apart from the trio, the film also stars Nithya Menen, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SJ Suryah, among others in key roles.
