Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon are set to headline a chaotic love triangle in the upcoming film Cocktail 2. The highly anticipated trailer was unveiled by Maddock Films on its YouTube channel on June 2, offering a glimpse into the film’s romance, friendship, and emotional turmoil.
The nearly three-minute trailer presents a narrative of chaos, confusion and heartbreak among three friends: Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), Diya (Rashmika Mandanna) and Ally (Kriti Sanon). Scenes depict the trio travelling together, exploring their friendship and the different dynamics of their relationship, including the suggestion of a threesome.
In the trailer, Kriti Sanon’s character flirts with Shahid Kapoor while he appears to be involved with Rashmika Mandanna, which leads to conflict between the two female characters as they compete over Shahid Kapoor.
Speaking about the film, Shahid Kapoor said in a statement, “Cocktail 2 is what summer feels like. It has madness, emotion, humour, romance and a lot of heart.” Kriti Sanon described the film as a contemporary take on relationships, adding that its characters are “beautifully flawed” and that the story examines friendship and love through a modern lens. Rashmika Mandanna added, “Cocktail 2 feels like a beautiful mix of love, friendship and all the emotions that come with figuring life out.”
Cocktail 2 is a production by Maddock Films and Luv Films, and is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg. The film is written by Tarun Jain and Luv Ranjan, and directed by Homi Adajania. It releases in cinemas worldwide on June 19.
