Ajay Devgn is gearing up for his next big-screen outing, Chauhaan, a war drama that is already generating interest among moviegoers. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the actor has commenced filming for the upcoming project in Kargil, Ladakh, with the region’s rugged terrain and chilly weather expected to lend authenticity to the film’s setting.
According to the report, Devgn arrived in Kargil a few days ago and has started shooting for the film. The production team has reportedly secured the required permissions beforehand and made arrangements to ensure that filming proceeds without any major hurdles. Several important sequences are expected to be filmed in the picturesque location.
A source from Ladakh told Entertainment Portal, “Ajay Devgn is shooting for Chauhaan in Kargil. He arrived here a few days ago and has already begun filming. Some key scenes will be shot in this picturesque town. The makers had obtained the necessary permissions in advance and have made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the shoot goes smoothly.”
The source further added, “It’s quite cold here in Kargil, and the weather will surely add an authentic touch to the scenes of Chauhaan.”
Ajay Devgn Returns to Ladakh After ‘LOC: Kargil’
Devgn’s latest filming schedule in Ladakh marks a return to a region he has previously visited for a movie shoot. The actor earlier filmed important portions of J P Dutta’s war film LOC: Kargil, released in 2003, in the mountainous landscape. The region has since undergone an administrative change, becoming a separate Union Territory in 2019, with Leh and Kargil as its two districts.
‘Chauhaan’ Marks Ajay Devgn’s First Collaboration With Aanand L Rai
Directed by Neeraj Yadav, Chauhaan is backed by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the banners of Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions. Jio Studios is also presenting the film.
The project was officially announced on June 25, 2026, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Ajay Devgn’s late father, action director Veeru Devgan. The announcement video featured the popular track ‘Jumma Chumma De De’ and concluded with the dialogue, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai.”
The film also marks Devgn’s first collaboration with filmmaker and producer Aanand L Rai, bringing together the actor and the team behind Colour Yellow Productions for the first time.
