Atlee’s Bigil starring Vijay, Nayanthara and Jackie Shroff released in a grand manner on October 25 in about 3000 screens across the country. The film has been receiving a mixed response from the critics and audience, but the box office collection proves otherwise.
Bigil (Whistle) was released amid high excitement of fans as well the moviegoers and expectedly took an excellent start. Over the weekend, it showed a terrific uptrend and raked the business of 75.10 crores in the weekend that included 30 crores on Friday, 26.60 crores on Saturday & 18.50 crores on Sunday.
AGS Entertainment’ production sports action drama had entered on weekdays at a rock-steady note and minted the amount of 14.50 crores on Monday. With a slight further drop, it managed to collect 12.10 crores on Tuesday and 8.60 crores on Wednesday.
On the next day i.e. Thursday, Bigil (Whistle) witnessed a normal drop in footfalls and bagged the amount of 6.10 crores. After a week, the total collection of the film has become 116.40 crores nett. In Bigil, Vijay is sharing screen with actress Nayanthara after a gap of 10 years.
The film sees Vijay in dual roles as a father and a son. Vijay plays the coach of a women’s football team. It also features Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Amritha, Indhuja and many others. Bigil is produced by AGS Entertainment.
