The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) continues to grow, as Thamma, the latest addition starring Rashmika Mandanna, hits theaters today as a special Diwali release. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who previously helmed the 2024 hit Munjya, the film blends supernatural chills with quirky humor—now a signature of the MHCU.

In a surprise move, the makers included a post-credits teaser for Shakti Shalini, the next film in the interconnected universe. The footage confirmed that rising star Aneet Padda—who shot to fame with her breakout role in Saiyaara—will headline the new film.
Interestingly, Shakti Shalini was originally meant to feature Kiara Advani in the lead role. However, due to her pregnancy, Kiara stepped away from the project, paving the way for Padda to take center stage.
The teaser also revealed that Shakti Shalini is slated for a December 24, 2026 release, setting it up as a major holiday release next year.
With Thamma now in theaters and Shakti Shalini officially on the calendar, Maddock Films appears committed to deepening its horror-comedy universe, continuing a trend that has resonated well with Indian audiences looking for genre-bending cinema.
