The teaser of the much-anticipated comedy film Housefull 5 has been reinstated on YouTube following a brief legal tussle involving a copyright claim. The teaser, which originally dropped on April 30, was taken down on May 9 due to an infringement notice from Mofusion Studios, sparking widespread speculation and backlash from fans.
The controversy centered around the song Laal Pari, featured in the teaser, which Mofusion Studios claimed was used without proper authorization. They alleged that the composition bore striking similarities to a track previously licensed to them. In response, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE), the producers of Housefull 5, maintained that they had acquired all necessary rights directly from the track’s creator, rapper and music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh.
After reviewing the case and verifying the rights ownership, YouTube restored the teaser on May 20, 2025. The video is once again available on NGE’s official channel, and fans have been flocking back to view the teaser, which is inching towards record-breaking view counts.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Housefull 5 brings together an ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Dutt, and several other fan-favorites from previous installments.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is set for a theatrical release on June 6, 2025.
