Ahan Shetty to Star in India’s First Horror Film Inspired by a Real-Life National Tragedy; Produced by Khyati Madaan

Ahan Shetty is set to lead a groundbreaking horror feature that draws inspiration from a real-life national tragedy—marking a first for Indian cinema. The yet-to-be-titled film is being produced by Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment in collaboration with Prashant Gunjalkar and is scheduled to begin filming in early 2026.

The project marks a significant genre shift for Ahan, who made his acting debut with the 2021 romantic action drama Tadap, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film performed well at the box office and established Ahan as a promising young talent in mainstream cinema.

Before stepping into this ambitious horror-thriller, Ahan will be seen in Border 2, a high-profile patriotic drama co-starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan. Slated for a Republic Day 2026 release, Border 2 is being positioned as one of the biggest theatrical releases of the coming year.

Described as a mass entertainer, the upcoming horror film blends elements of romance and suspense with a chilling narrative rooted in historical tragedy. It not only signals a bold new direction for Ahan Shetty’s filmography but also pioneers a new space in Indian genre cinema.

Madaan, known for her decade-long work with studios like Red Chillies Entertainment, Disney India and Maddock Films, launched Not Out Entertainment earlier this year with a clear mission to revive theatrical Hindi cinema through genre-defining storytelling.
