In a heartbreaking loss to the Indian entertainment industry, veteran actor Mukul Dev passed away at the age of 54. Known for his powerful performances across Bollywood films, television serials, and regional cinema, Dev’s sudden demise has left fans and fellow artists mourning the loss of a multifaceted talent.
As per the reports, Mukul died on Friday (May 23) night. However, his friends learned about his demise after they reached his home on Saturday (May 24).
Born on September 17, 1970, in New Delhi, Mukul Dev began his cinematic journey in the mid-1990s, making a striking debut with the psychological thriller Dastak (1996), where he played ACP Rohit Malhotra opposite Sushmita Sen. His career spanned nearly three decades, during which he built a reputation as a dependable and versatile character actor.
Dev’s notable filmography includes roles in Kohram (1999), Wajood (1998), Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), Son of Sardaar (2012), R… Rajkumar (2013), and Jai Ho (2014). Beyond Bollywood, he left a strong impression in Punjabi and Telugu films, earning recognition for his adaptability across genres and languages.
On television, Dev was equally impactful. He hosted the first season of Fear Factor India, and appeared in numerous TV dramas throughout the early 2000s, cementing his place as a household name.
