While Mrunal Thakur is reportedly locked in as the lead actress—having completed a successful look test in Mumbai—Janhvi Kapoor is also said to be in the final stages of negotiation. Deepika’s entry, however, would raise the stakes considerably, positioning the film as a potential game-changer in the Indian cinematic landscape.
Though there’s no official confirmation yet, credible sources indicate that the makers are keen on having Deepika play a pivotal role—possibly one that taps into her experience with large-scale action and emotionally intense narratives. While Deepika Padukone is now all set to star opposite Allu Arjun in her second Telugu film, the actress has reported exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga-Prabhas’ Spirit.
According to multiple Telugu outlets -including Gulte and Great Andhra, Deepika allegedly requested a strict 8-hour workday, which translates to just 6 hours of actual shoot time. Tension escalated further, when DP allegedly demanded a huge pay and share in the film’s profits. Additionally, insiders also claim she refused to deliver her dialogues in Telugu.
Produced by Sun Pictures, AA22 x A6 has been planned to be mounted on a global scale, with leading special effects companies from Los Angeles enlisted to map out a spectacular palette. Pre-production is going on in full swing, with principal photography slated to begin around July-August.
