Balaji Motion Pictures has officially announced a new release date for its upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar. Originally slated to hit theatres on May 15, 2026, the film has now been preponed and will release on April 10, 2026.

The decision to advance the release is being seen as a strategic move, especially in light of Akshay Kumar’s packed theatrical slate in 2026. By arriving earlier in the year, Bhooth Bangla is expected to enjoy a clearer release window and reduced box office competition, allowing for a more sustained theatrical run. Industry watchers note that such scheduling adjustments reflect a growing emphasis on optimising audience turnout and long-term performance.
While the plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to combine director Priyadarshan’s signature humour with supernatural elements, positioning it as a comedy-horror entertainer aimed at a wide audience.
The ensemble cast further strengthens the film’s appeal. Alongside Akshay Kumar, Bhooth Bangla stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav. A key highlight is the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Tabu on screen after 26 years, following their last collaboration in Hera Pheri (2000), a detail that has generated considerable excitement among fans.
Bhooth Bangla is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor. With Priyadarshan at the helm and a cast known for impeccable comic timing, the film is positioned as a mainstream theatrical entertainer.
With its new release date locked, Bhooth Bangla is now set to arrive in cinemas on April 10, 2026, offering audiences an early dose of big-screen comedy next year.
