Kartik Aaryan is all set to dive into the world of fantasy and folklore as he begins shooting for his much-anticipated film Naagzilla from November 1 in Mumbai. The project, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, promises to bring a never-seen-before cinematic experience and is already generating strong buzz in the industry.
A source close to the production told Bollywood Hungama, “Kartik Aaryan will start shooting for Naagzilla from November 1 in Mumbai. The actor and the whole team of the film are excited to begin shooting. The pre-production has been successfully going on in full swing for a while. Hence, the team is fully prepared to commence shooting.”
The film is being jointly produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership between the two banners. Notably, Naagzilla also marks Kartik Aaryan’s second collaboration with Karan Johar after their upcoming romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, co-starring Ananya Panday. That film wrapped earlier this year and is slated for release on December 31, 2025.
With Naagzilla, the makers are eyeing an Independence Day 2026 release. While the female lead is yet to be finalized, the source teased, “The makers are yet to take the final call, but rest assured, it’ll surely be a surprise that would further cheer all those who are waiting for this one-of-a-kind film.”
The genre-bending project is expected to blend mythology, fantasy, and cutting-edge VFX—an ambitious move for mainstream Bollywood cinema.
Interestingly, Kartik is also set to resume shooting for Anurag Basu’s upcoming film next month. “Kartik will juggle the shoot of both the films. He’s a thorough professional and has planned his dates impeccably for next month,” the source added.
With two major films on the floor and one lined up for a year-end release, Kartik Aaryan continues his winning streak, proving once again why he’s one of the most sought-after stars in the industry today.
